LIP ENHANCEMENT AFTERCARE
IMPORTANT
This lip filler aftercare information is general in nature. Remember, individual cosmetic injectable experiences can vary from person to person.
Lip Filler aftercare tip #1: Don’t expect initial fullness to stay the same.
Swelling after lip filler treatment is completely normal and therefore the size of your lips immediately after treatment is not a true reflection of the final result. Minor swelling can last between a few hours or day, possibly longer, depending on multiple factors.
Lip Filler aftercare #2: How to reduce swelling after lip fillers.
Be sure to follow the specific guidelines of your Cosmetic injector following your treatment.
Apply ice to treated area if necessary.
Stay hydrated – drink plenty of water.
Rest and eat healthy foods like fresh fruits & vegetables. The vitamins and minerals will help with the healing process.
Avoid strenuous exercise and extreme hot temperatures for 24-48 hours post treatment.
Bruising:
Consider taking Arnica Montana sublingual tablets prior to your appointment to help avoid bruising and after treatment if a bruise has developed. These are available at locations such as Choices Market and Natures Fare.
Turn to Make-up to help hide the bruising. Cover up provides better coverage and your local make-up counter can help.
After a few days and the bruise is no longer tender to the touch, begin light massage to help break up the bruise to help it fade more quickly.
Get creative. Now might be the time to blame the dog or the weights at the gym. If you think you need an explanation to offer your family and friends, we’ve got a few tried and true ones to pick from.
A bruise does not affect the results of your treatment. It is temporary and the benefits of your treatment are worth it. You’ll be looking great in about a week!
Avoid:
Heavy activity or exercise for the first two days after treatment
Blood-thinning medications, including aspirin and ibuprofen (unless prescribed by your medical practitioner then please continue with these)
Smoking.
Lip Filler aftercare tip #3: Allow time for a follow up.
Avoid traveling out of town for at least 2 weeks after getting cosmetic injectables if possible. This ensures your full recovery and allows time to schedule another appointment for follow up if necessary.
Lip Filler aftercare tip #4: Plan ahead for your treatment, at least 2-4 weeks before important events.
It’s always best to start a new treatment well before a big event. We recommend that you allow at least 2-3 weeks for your cosmetic injectable treatment to settle. If you’re a first time injectables client, we recommend 4 weeks prior to the event.
Remember, results can vary between individuals.
For best results, we recommend follow-up treatments every 6 to 12 months, depending on the individual and the product used.
